Post 07: Comparing and Contrasting

Writing in high school has always been a struggle for as I try to find way to fix one point of the article to the other. College writing on the other hand has been a lot easier for me because I'm able to find research and not just look at one thing. In "Why First Person Is Important in College Writing" Maddalena states,"...writing in various academic and professional contexts needs to be more flexible, sophisticated, and subtle than writing for high school English classes. In college, you should start using first-person pronouns in your formal academic writing, where appropriate". Compared to in high school college is a little bit more lenient when it comes to how you're able to write certain things like when using I. Also, in college you're giving up a length like a certain amount of words but in high school you're given a certain amount of paragraphs or pages.

  1. I agree, collage writing is easier to do then high school writing. The formatting is difficult for me but the writing itself is much more simple. I also agree the length is very different and new to me. Also the statement you choose fits well with this blog! A very nice read.
